“Kyle Cowand Awarded Austin Optimist of the Year"

Austin, TX – The Austin Chapter of Optimist International has named Kyle Cowand “Optimist of the Year.” Club President Frank Powel awarded Kyle the Club’s highest recognition after the close of their fiscal year, for his dedication and service.
Kyle Cowand has held the executive position of Treasurer for the club for the last two years. He is Senior Vice President for RiverStone Wealth Management’s corporate headquarters in Austin, where he has worked over 13 years.
Optimist International is an organization focused on helping youth in the communities they serve. The Austin chapter was founded in 1935 so is the oldest civic club in Austin. Over the last 12 months the Austin Optimist donated over $44,000 to different youth organizations in the greater Austin area. The largest local fundraiser each year is the Austin Optimist Christmas Tree lot at the corner of Lamar & San Gabriel, which opens after Thanksgiving. The Austin Optimist meet at noon on Wednesdays at IHOP located at Mopac & 2244.
